Comatose PowerMac G5 (Will Not Boot)

Update:10-11Source: network consolidation

Woke up this morning and started up my mac. Saw my desktop and popped a message saying it must be restarted. After pressing the power button to restart, nothing! I hear the chime, but nothing else happens. Blank monitor, dead keyboard and mouse, dead internal drives. If I leave it on for more than a few minutes, it starts getting hot and the fans start blowing like no tomorrow. AppleCare is long gone and no Mac repair shops within 100 miles. Any ideas?
Thanks for any input.

Hello! I am having a very similar problem with our G5 here at work. Dual G5 with a flat Apple monitor that has the keyboard and mouse hooked up to the monitor and the monitor goes to a split that goes to the monitor input, 1 Firewire and 1 USB. I'm not sure if this is relavent but mentioing it. I'm a Mac user but I don't use this computer; I just happen to be one of the only 'Mac guys' in the building.
Aside from identical symptoms there are two other things not mentioned in the original post that occur in our computer:
1) there is a red LED light that is now on on the motherboard. Not the LED that comes on when removing the cover but it appears to be on the motherboard right behind the upper of the two processors. It definitely wasn't there during normal operation.
2)The optical drive won't even open. I try holding the eject while powering up but it won't open.
I tried the PMU; no joy. Is this something that will have to go to a Mac Store or some kinf of tech?
Thanks for any further advice anyone can offer.
